About · /02

An engineering studio for the long horizon.

TRADE HOUSE NOSTRUM LLC was founded to operate at the intersection of complex enterprise systems and modern software practice — a quiet, durable firm built around senior engineers and long client relationships.

/ Mission

Build software that outlasts its sponsors.

Our mission is to make enterprise technology a source of compounding advantage — not a maintenance burden. We do this by delivering systems that are correct, observable, secure, and economical from day one.

We measure success in business outcomes our clients can defend in front of a board: lower cost-to-serve, faster cycle times, defensible security posture, and the ability to release software with confidence.

Engineering team in collaborative session
/ Expertise

A bench built for the hard problems.

Our practitioners come from financial services, energy, public sector and large-scale consumer technology. The collective resume includes core-banking modernizations, hyperscaler migrations, national-scale identity programs and the kind of systems that quietly underpin everyday infrastructure.

Architecture
Reference patterns, ADRs, technology selection.
Platform
Internal developer platforms, golden paths.
Security
Threat modeling, red-team, governance.
Data
Lakehouse, streaming, governance.
/ Values

Five operating principles.

/01
Integrity

We say no to engagements we cannot do well.

/02
Rigor

Decisions are written down, with trade-offs explicit.

/03
Calm

Production systems should be boring. We engineer for that.

/04
Curiosity

We read the spec, the source, and the postmortem.

/05
Stewardship

We hand systems over better-documented than we found them.

/ Approach

A delivery model built around evidence.

Every Nostrum engagement opens with a discovery phase that produces written artifacts — a current-state audit, a target architecture, a risk register, and a roadmap with options. From there, delivery runs in two-week increments with weekly demonstrations to client stakeholders.

We invest heavily in observability and runbooks from day one, so the systems we ship can be operated confidently by the client's own team — or by our managed services group, depending on the contract.
